As a lifestyle photographer, I focus on connection and emotion.  I capture love….and I love it.  I used to struggle with the large family shoots because I thought they needed to be more traditional (smile at the camera the whole time) so I dreaded them, as it’s not my specialty.  Then I had a shift in mindset and realized that the reason these families want a lifestyle session, is to capture the love and connection between all these people that might not get together as often as they want.  So I always start with the big groups (more traditional) to get them out of the way, then split up into smaller groups and families where I can really play and get my people to squeeze, snuggle, play and love on each other. Once I figured out how to shoot these my way, I’ve really enjoyed them and love getting to meet so many new faces. This family was so sweet and loving, I just wished I had more time to sit down and get to know them all better.
