Coyne Family | Ellensburg Lifestyle Photographer

So happy to meet the Coyne Family this year and photograph one of my favorite places in the county… also where I lived for a time in my childhood.  As more and more houses fill this little valley, I’m still brought back to the winding road where we wrecked our bikes, dodged rattlesnakes, and rode our ponies as wild little girls and I just love seeing these kiddos get to enjoy the same beautiful place.   It was incredibly bright with little shade, so we had some interesting backgrounds and shadows, but it worked out and I love the results.  That’s the part that’s become easier as I’ve continued my career, capturing timeless memories regardless of the circumstances.  I can do a lot on the front end to prepare my families and myself before a session, but I cannot control the weather or the light.  I make the best of the things I can’t control and deeply appreciate my families and their open mindedness, trust, and patience.  I feel like lifestyle photography really speaks to this age and family season. Baby Abby | Lifestyle Maternity & Newborn Photographer

 Isn’t Baby Abby the cutest!  She has the sweetest little smile, adores her big brothers and those CHEEKS…These parenting vetrans are so laid back and have the best sense of humor, I always enjoy my sessions with them. When they said they were expecting another baby, and a girl (YAY!!)….so thrilled for them.  I couldn’t wait to meet their sweet baby girl at her newborn session in their home. They have such a cool little farmhouse in the country, surrounded by goats and chickens. This is why these lifestyle sessions are just my favorite. A home is a pretty personal space and being invited into that (in the midst of newborn survival mode) is so touching to me, I don’t take it for granted.  I love seeing their photos on the wall, kiddos play in their own rooms, and families love on each other and feel completely relaxed in their own space.  The flexibility is also pretty awesome.  If the older kiddos need a break, a snack, some Wild Kratts (my kids personal fave)….they can do that!  If baby doesn’t want to be put down, we don’t have to put baby down! Baby Elek | Ellensburg Lifestyle Photographer

A fellow photographer asks you to photograph her family and new baby. INSERT HAPPY DANCE HERE 🙂 Such a huge compliment when another artist trusts you to capture their family.  We started back in August and tried out this amazing location next to the Columbia River near Vantage, WA.  Beautiful cliffside at sunset, couldn’t be more perfect.  But…I definitely won’t take another family with small kiddos there again.  It was cliffsides. near. a. river….not a ton of area safe for kids to explore, so we were very careful to always hold hands and stay away from the edge…still super nerve racking from a worry-some photog mama (me).

I’m in such awe of this amazing couple raising 3 small kiddos and adding another.  Roszika is not only a photographer, but lactation specialist/labor and delivery nurse.  It was so fun to chat with her about her new baby and delivery. I’ve never photographed a fresh48 from a home birth and was completely blown away.  The tub, the post-partem herbal bath, and the whole family surrounding mom and new baby, it just felt like the most natural and comforting way to welcome your new baby into a loving family.
